Actor and IRC Ambassador Adjoa Andoh – who stars in @BridgertonNetflix as Lady Danbury – joined an IRC team providing emergency support to refugees living in Trieste. This is what she saw:
“Trieste has a long history of welcoming displaced people, as a major entry point for refugees arriving into Italy. Yet today, many face challenges accessing housing and essential services in the city,” she said.
“The silos are two abandoned stone warehouses next to the central railway station, where a distressing number of people – including unaccompanied children – are sheltering in cold, damp and unsanitary conditions.”
“The IRC’s work shows how people seeking refuge can heal from their trauma, regain control over their futures, and unlock their potential to enrich our communities.”
