Marco Marco Instagram – For Plastique’s Kitsune inspired look, we wanted to blend the style of Erte with traditional and ‘Furry’ elements. We started by blending a classic 1920’s cocoon coat made popular by Poiret with Haori influences. Cut in Pink Lurex Brocade, the coat was finished with a hand painted silk lapel quilted with foxes and flower blossoms, and a custom sculpted gold and crystal fox head broach closure at the waist. We underdressed it with an Obistyle cincher, complete with contrasting obijime and obidome details. In place of a bustier, we used a foss shape to create painted clouds that covered the breast plate and provided the stem for the fox mask. For the mask itself, we made a cast of Plastique’s face, and molded the mask out of thermoplastic. Custom sculpted fox toes were added to the heelless platforms and along with the tail, airbrushed in pink. Our friend @jon_neil helped us weld 9 mechanical tail bases together in order to have one solid 9 tail belt.
