Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III Instagram – On this day, May 13th, 1862, a 23-year-old Robert Smalls marshalled his crew and pulled off the greatest seizure of Confederate assets of the entire Civil War, a haul that included his ship, tons of weaponry, and the nine black crew members that tasted freedom for the first time that morning.
