Which is why I’m BAFFLED that my previous post has been so deeply misunderstood, misconstrued and dishonestly portrayed in a some of y’all’s comments under it. BAFFLED.
That’s the problem with outrage hunting. You’re going to get it wrong a lot.
I’m responsible for what I say. I am responsible for what I intend. And what I said and what I intended is #FoundationalBlackAmerican ancestors are true American heroes. It’s really that simple. You can parse the words up and take a sentence here or there or dissect how I decided to use prose to say it. But the fact of the matter is I will not ever, nor can I be responsible for what your interpretation of what I am saying is. Only what I meant.
And furthermore, if I tell you I didn’t mean what you’ve interpreted and you refuse to believe that—that has nothing to do with me. Take care. And as always #happyjuneteenth
