Namik Paul Instagram – Space, and quiet and silence, have their own definitions in cities this big. You carve your space, bit by bit, and you fill it up with things from songs and stories, like hopes, and dreams and things from reality, like loneliness and sorrow and sadness for things that could be but were lost.
And then you have the silence, which is rare, so rare that when it comes along you grab it, wherever it comes, in a crowd herding you along in its rush to get somewhere and everywhere, or when you’re all by your lonesome, or, and this is if you’re really lucky, with a friend or two to share it with.
You grab it, and then you hold on to it for however long or short it stays for, that is something you rarely get to decide. You hold on to it and hope that whenever it comes back, in a day or in a month or in a couple of years, whenever it may be, that it remembers you, it recognises you, it recognises your dreams and your hopes. Because it’s in that silence, that those things from the stories come alive ❤️
