Namik Paul Instagram – As a young lad, I read the words ‘What is this life so full of care, we have no time to sit and stare’. Young me must’ve had some substantial cares and a strong yearning to sit and stare, because it resonated, and became something of a catchphrase. Young Namik could be found throwing these words around for all and sundry whenever the occasion called for it. Such occasions, however, were disappointingly few and far between, so I threw it around anyway 🤷🏽‍♂️ This phase lasted embarrassingly long, and to be honest, I’m pretty sure I broke it out as recently as 2021 🤭 Even more embarrassingly, I just googled it, and I’ve had the poem AND the poet wrong this whole time 🤦🏽‍♂️ Well, retroactive embarrassment and other cares can wait their turns, because this day was meant for sitting and staring. Yes, I realise I’m standing, but I think that’s what they call ‘poetic license’.
