A note from Creative Director, Stuart Vevers:
 
This collection is defined by today’s generation, who have taken the elements of classical American style and rewritten them to suit their needs.
 
I was inspired in part by films like “Metropolitan” and the television show “Twin Peaks.” Both feature these bands of young people, often dressed in clothes that reference an earlier era, but always inflected with a sense of the now.
 
There is a feeling of playing dress-up in granny’s closet here, in the repurposed skirts and the sparkling charms. But it’s contrasted with dressed-down, unconventional elements like plaid pajamas, boxer shorts and shearling slippers. I find there’s something both bold and vulnerable about today’s generation picking up these very classical pieces and finding their own way to wear them.
 
We’re designing for real people, who move through the real world. One moment they might be bundled up against the cold, and the next they’re in the hot-house environment of a party, and they’re ready for all of it.
 
It’s a spontaneous, care-free way of dressing, defined by love-worn, lived-in pieces that acknowledge the past while looking toward the future.
 
And it’s a new kind of luxury – imperfect and all its own.  #CoachNY
