T.D. Jakes Instagram – I am delighted to announce that after two months of negotiation, my real estate firm, T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures (TDJREV) has received a unanimous vote from the Local Redevelopment Authority Board of Fort McPherson to enter a deal to purchase over 94 acres of Fort McPherson, the historic army base near downtown Atlanta.
Through various films and conferences, I’ve developed my relationship with the city of Atlanta; this venture is a part of my plan to help break down barriers to success, support the social and financial impact goals within communities, and help the economy work better for all citizens. Such cultural fluency comes from growing up in a similar neighborhood to Fort Mac and the surrounding communities as a child myself. It invests in underserved communities and reduces gentrification.

This development vision builds a broadly shared prosperity that improves equity at the grassroots level while rendering generational wealth for families, businesses, and communities. We hope to develop accessible options that could solve existing problems and even alter the trajectory of citizens that will live, work and play within the community. In addition, I believe this opportunity will revitalize and attract more of Atlanta’s workforce to the area because of our alignment.
