Tyler Grey Instagram – 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. I was lucky enough to be there 10 years ago to speak to a few dozen Normandy Raiders which was an experience I will NEVER forget. Talking to them in person on the beach was surreal and life changing. Today though I had a thought that I didn’t have back then. I truly can’t fathom in 60-70 years going to a place where a battle I was in was fought. Now make no mistake, I was in nothing REMOTELY comparable and that is part of my point: even the small “battles” I was in I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like let alone feel like to go back there when things are completely different. I cannot comprehend how these veterans feel and how strange it must be to be there so many years later. One thing I can understand is that had they not of done what they did, then there is no way they would have the freedom to go there now. We live daily on the edge of a world where our freedoms are taken and we need to remember days like today when some people stood up and committed to taking back freedom by force. The younger generations need to understand that war should always be the last option but if all else fails there is no other option. | Posted on 07/Jun/2024 08:04:38
