Xavier Dolan Instagram – Une quinzaine à côtoyer et échanger avec des légendes, des esprits libres, ouverts et visionnaires – un art entier et dévoué, généreux, et d’une folle vitalité! Des conversations approfondissantes avec @maimounadoucoure, @asmae_el_moudir, @vickykrieps et Todd McCarthy, envers qui je suis reconnaissant. Aussi, je vous joins un extrait de mon discours lors de la cérémonie de clôture d’Un Certain regard. Je quitte Cannes repu, refait, réparé même. C’est tout ce que je peux dire pour l’instant et ça me suffit. Alors merci au @festivaldecannes de m’avoir invité et responsabilisé ainsi dans un moment d’incertitude et de vulnérabilité. J’ai trouvé à Cannes ce que j’y ai toujours trouvé : du cinéma fort, et de nouvelles amitiés. Et je repars avec ce avec quoi je suis toujours reparti : l’urgence de créer, l’urgence de vivre!
A fortnight spent with legends, visionary minds and uncompromising and complete, dedicated, spirited art! Elevated, elevating conversations with @maimounadoucoure, @asmae_el_moudir, @vickykrieps and Todd McCarthy, to whom I am grateful. Also, I’ve posted on slide 2 an excerpt from my speech during the Certain Regard award ceremony. I am leaving Cannes feeling sated and enlivened, with something broken deep within that has been restored. That’s all I know so far, and it’s enough for me. Thank you to the @festivaldecannes for having invited me and given me such a fulfilling responsibility. I found in Cannes what I’ve always found over the years : cinema and new friendships. I return home with what I’ve always returned with : the urge to create and live!!!
