Akilah Hughes Instagram – This summer was frankly one of the hardest of my life. There was no work, I was recovering from surgery, it was a mess. The reason people love this industry is because you get paid to dream and you always have something to look forward to. A meeting. A pitch. A callback! And suddenly we were all thrust into a kinda crummy economy with skills that were hard to transfer and frankly that any of us survived this long is a testament to our character and tenacity. BUT WE SHOULDN’T HAVE HAD TO BE TENACIOUS. I’m still a little angry about this whole thjng (you can’t blame me), but ending the year with more hope than I’ve had in months is a good feeling.
