…Very sad to miss the opening night party for @manhattanfilmfestival and events this weekend but sometimes the Universe has other plans. I’m trying to recoop from herniated discs and an excruciatingly painful pinched nerve, running down my arm, causing me to lose feeling in my fingers… The past few weeks have been tough, to say the least. But they’ve also forced me to slow down and heal in ways that were long overdue. It’s funny how life works— One moment you think you’re moving forward and making progress, then, BAM, it feels like you’re going backward…But you know what? Sometimes pain really does lead to gain and ultimately makes you stronger. I wanted to share this because I often only show the positive on IG— and I keep the struggles private. This time, I hope my experience can help someone out there who’s grinding know— It’s okay to slow down, take your time, or even take a break to rest. Pushing yourself too hard or keeping everything bottled up can lead to burnout or injury. Your body is a reflection of your inner state, so be kind to yourself. 🙏🏼✨ If I’m a bit MIA on here, that’s why. I’m doing everything I can to rest and heal so I can get back to screenings and work asap. And on a lighter note, someone sent me this rainbow just when I needed it… It helped me remember, you can’t get a rainbow without the rain 🌈 There’s always a larger plan at work.
