To some it might mean a Miss Trunchbull level of overbearing, to others it may simply mean being a confident woman. In this week’s conversation, Sarah Pittendrigh explains how she helps women over 40 find the confidence they need to be whatever level of ‘formidable’ that works for them.   Sarah’s experience in finding inner confidence is hard-won. She has personally and professionally overcome challenges that would make anyone buckle; cancer (twice), bankruptcy after the collapse of her multi-million-pound business during the 2008 crash which left her as a single parent living on income support, and divorce then re-marriage to her husband. Now back on her feet and running a thriving business, Sarah also devotes much of her time to coaching successful CEOs and entrepreneurs in how to find their formidable side. Funny, down-to-earth and bursting with no-nonsense kindness, Sarah is formidable in the best possible way.   In our conversation we cover: 💪 How people say they want success because it brings them freedom. But what they really want is to feel safe. 💪 How the cliché is true: our most valuable life lessons come through the knocks we get. 💪 How to get over our fear of being judged. 💪 How looking for success to prove someone wrong is not the best long-term motivator. 💪 How to look after your energy, because that’s the base level for every single thing you do in life.   And so much more!     To make sure you don’t miss out, click the subscribe button on my YouTube page and you’ll be notified every time I have a new conversation – and this is one you have to see! https://www.youtube.com/@AndreaMcLeanThisgirlisonfire @sarahpittendrigh #midlifeconversations   👉 If you’d like to join the conversation, just click the link to join my private, women only Facebook group, where you can discuss all of the midlife conversations in confidence. https://www.facebook.com/groups/766812441537576/

Andrea McLean Instagram – 4 things I did this week to fill my cup that had nothing to do with work.
I’m aware that I haven’t done my #4things for a while, so I thought I’d start again today. It’s made me realise that my work / fun balance is way out of kilter in terms of what is deemed ‘instagramable’, but I like being cosy at home watching telly when it’s cold outside! I figure if it makes me happy it all counts.
1. So, I did do one fancy thing this week – we went to the screening of ‘Mean Girls’ as a family, and it was great! The film was just brilliant, I loved it. And the party side of the event was so good, the girls loved it, and I enjoyed watching them love it.
2. We watched Saltburn last night. Oh. My. Goodness. Watch it IMMEDIATELY!! It is just so good, every single person is excellent, it’s been brilliantly cast, it’s tight, pacy, gripping, beautiful to watch, has you on the edge of your seat until the final, fabulous scene. @keoghan92 (Barry Keoghan) is spectacular.
3. This week I INHALED ‘Fool Me Once’ the drama series. @michkeegan (Michelle Keegan) is just fantastic in it. Great plot, lots of twists. Keeps you gripped. Loved it.
4. I only went on a few dog walks this week, (Nick has stepped up to the plate with this, he’s good in the cold) but the one day looked so pretty. We both stopped to admire the sun going down over our local pond. There’s something so calming about being near water that I really love.
And that’s it for this week!

What have you done to fill your cup that had nothing to with work?
