This picture wasn’t from today. It’s from my birthday six years ago. My real family weren’t physically together this year. But my Virgin River family gave me a lovely day of happy work and a gluten free cake. I am grateful for all of them.

Just finished reading “Isaac’s Storm” by the great Erik Larson. Amazed to see my great uncle R. Wilbur Goodman quoted on page 141. He was 13 when he survived the storm. This is his wife Anna Butler Goodman’s recipe with their address. BTW, this is a great recipe that I make a lot at Christmas.
