This is set up next to my treadmill. “Every moment is another chance to go towards your dream or away from it.” So every time I feel like I don’t want to get on the dang thing, I am reminded why and what I am doing it for.
The older I get, I realize more and more that beauty is not about being skinny. Strong is the new beautiful! That’s why I work out with a trainer three times a week. I know me… if I have an appointment with someone to train, I can’t put it off. Sometimes I would literally clean out my drawers instead of getting on the treadmill.
I try to get 5000 to 10,000 steps a day, and love going for long walks around the neighborhood. Three days a week with my trainer I work on my core, plus weight training, squats, yoga stretches and balance. It makes such a difference in my mental strength too.
I know that I am getting older, but I refuse to become a couch potato. It just feels too good to be strong, and that gives me energy and confidence.
