«Lo sport è il mio primo grande amore. Ho iniziato a fare scherma a cinque anni, ma a me piace tutto dello sport. Amo quel che crea: i rapporti, la gente, il bene. Sa cambiare il mondo nella sua gioia e semplicità. Lo sport non è solo l’azione sportiva, ma è la reazione che determina. È la felicità di un genitore che guarda il bambino che corre per la prima volta; la fierezza di chi non vede l’ora di mostrare la propria medaglia; la gente che fa il tifo. È un qualcosa di molto più grande di noi. Alle Olimpiadi, ai Mondiali di calcio, gli italiani diventano più calorosi. L’azione sportiva la compiono anche loro».

“Sport is my first great love. I started fencing when I was five, but I like everything about sport. I love what it creates: the relationships, the people, the good. It can change the world with its joy and simplicity. Sport isn’t just about the sporting action, it’s also about the reactions it triggers. It’s the happiness of a parent watching their child run for the first time; the pride of someone who can’t wait to show off their medal; the people cheering. It’s something much bigger than us. At the Olympics, at the World Cup, Italians become even warmer. They’re an active part of the sporting action too.”
