Darin J. Sallam Instagram – Meet 94-year-old Halima Abdelhadi. Zionists expelled her from her village of Zikrin when she was 18 years old.
We organized a special screening of Farha by Darin J. Sallam for Nakba survivors at a refugee camp in Jordan. During this intimate gathering, Halima shares her heartfelt reaction after watching a traditional Palestinian wedding celebration in the film (the “Henna” scene), drawing poignant parallels with her upbringing in Palestine.
Later, I sat down with Darin for a podcast episode of “Choose Your Weapon,” where she reflected on Halima’s words, underscoring the power of storytelling in preserving Nakba stories. Stay tuned for more moments and insights from the event.
