In recent days we have seen bombing on tented civilian areas where hundreds of thousands of displaced people are seeking safety. The Israeli Military has today given evacuation orders to East Rafah which will affect an estimated 100,000 displaced people. Our partner, MAP, writes that the order is to ‘evacuate to areas .. where there is not enough shelter to receive them nor humanitarian supplies to sustain them’. James Elder the UNICEF global spokesperson says, ‘I cannot imagine the fear of families in Rafah right now’. It’s reported at least 34,700 Palestinians have now been killed.
