Elle Newlands Instagram – Long ass story time: I haven’t had working heat since last winter. I had multiple people come out and one company replaced an old part but it wouldn’t send out hot air, so I just stopped using it. They said the whole system was old and needed to be replaced, for a sum of money I was really afraid to spend (it’s been a tough year in the entertainment industry). So I decided instead to just freeze my ass off all winter.
This week my friend and I both shared variations of the same story that we are sick and tired of living in lack mentality. We’ve both had a series of life events happen to show us that we felt deeply unworthy. A subconscious pattern of attracting things that are not good for us and being afraid, suddenly becoming conscious. A lifetime of self sabotaging to uphold the belief that we “don’t deserve”, suddenly feeling really uncomfortable. We made a pact to knock that shit off and start taking up space and stop apologizing for having needs. I decided I was going to get over my fear of spending money on myself and replace my heat because being warm is a basic necessity and why would I deprive myself? I would put it on a card and figure it out. Then I made the appointment to get it replaced. But something interesting happened 🙃 another friend in a random conversation said a guy she used fixed the exact same issue. So I called him on a whim and today, after a year of people telling me it wasn’t fixable, it’s fixed. For a fraction of the cost of replacing it. I FINALLY decided I deserved to take care of myself and it all serendipitously worked out.
Moral of the story! WE’RE WORTHY OF GOOD THINGS and believing that and investing in ourselves will often turn things around. Life is hard, things are expensive but please, your self care needs, health, happiness and comfort are so important. We make our own magic! I believe the universe will always provide but we HAVE to be ready to receive it.
