I had grown up so much since my first album, and my goal was to sing about the things I had been through that I didn’t find easy to talk about, and to make music that felt brave to me. It was a bit of a move away from my melancholic music, I’m still a ballad girl at heart, but I wanted to sing about things in a more euphoric way.
