Hannah Fry Instagram – So this is the reason I’ve been off gallivanting for most of the last year. My new 6 part series for BBC – Secret Genius. I’m really proud of it. It’s about the philosophy of innovation. About how we surround ourselves with technology that blends so seamlessly into the background that we’ve forgotten to remember how clever it is. It’s about the moments of human achievement, the extraordinary stories of invention and the genuine sparks of genius that have happened along the way.
It’s also the first thing I’ve ever done on telly where I feel like I’ve finally had the chance to be fully myself. We’ve been stuck on the idea for a really long time that science telly needs to be upright and formal. I hope (hope!) this helps to break that trend. It’s playful and irreverent, with plenty of wit and warmth, without ever sacrificing on interesting stories or credible science.
