Haven Everly Instagram – It all feels surreal…
Five years ago, I had the honor of playing the lead in this musical feature film called the @girlwholefthome . I got to work with @emycoligado and @itspaolomontalban , both of whom I watched on tv growing up. In this film, I got to sing, act, and most importantly, learn so much at such a short period of time.
In 2020, the @girlwholefthome went through the film festival circuit. It received numerous awards such as the audience award at CAAMFest and best picture at the DC Asian American Film Festival. It was interesting getting to experience the festival circuit online, but it was nice seeing how much this film resonated with others. 💜
Now, in 2023, I am so happy to say that the @girlwholefthome will be distributed this May 30th! The music will also be released on the same day! This film is the FIRST Fil-Am musical feature film to get distribution here in the United States. 🤯
What people don’t see are the behind-the-scenes blood, sweat, and tears it took to create an indie project like this. Witnessing the commitment of writer/director/producer @mallorieoh and the passion of the entire cast/crew makes me so proud and honored to be a part of this film. This experience was truly a dream come true.
