India.Arie Instagram – AFRO PUNK WAS TRANSCENDEEEEENNNNT! I began SongVersation: HerStory @afropunk Crying Uncontrollably. I couldn’t speak without crying. The way MY heart is set up ~ I had to explain to the audience Why. And with a short 1 hr show, it ate up time I didn’t have ~ Because the audience comes to hear their favorite songs right? But THIS night ~ for all the reasons I explained to the audience (I wont say all of that here) THIS show, for the first time, I sang for ME. And 45 minutes later, I exited the stageJumping with Joy. LITERALLY? The ups and downs of my life ~ used to REALLY be burdensome ~ But at THIS age, I’m learning to RIDE THE WAVE and Reeeeeallyyyy appreciate who I am and ALL THE WAYS … that I AM. As for the reason for the tears ~ I’d like to share that later ~ when I tell you why my first outfit was ALL. PINK! and not HOT PINK EITHER! lol PINK PINK! I love you all. to everyone who came to SongVersation: HerStory … THANK YOU. AND AS ALWAYS: THANK YOU TO MY TEAM BAND AND CREW. WITH OUT YALL? I Reeeeeallyyyy woulda sat this one out and Im Sooooooo glad I didnt. #soulbirdrise #soulbird #worthy
