When I was a student, he invited me and my team to his studio, as he finished up his Heathen album. Discussing philosophy, anthropology, our mutual love of Metropolis and Man Ray, and his crisis of faith in the grand narratives after 9-11, he commissioned my first major album art. I was blessed to work with David for over a decade, as he launched both my photography and my directorial debut. Inspiring pushing creativity beyond reality and fantasy, to explore the sublime.
