Jia Hui Siau Instagram – What’s there to eat in Shanghai other than小笼包XLB? 🤤
Here’s a list of what I tried in Shanghai:
1/2) 大壶春 Dahuchun – It’s on the list of Michelin Bib Gourmand. We tried the pan-fried 生煎包 (10 buns of 3 assorted flavours). 皮有点厚, 底部香脆, 肉质很鲜甜！The fishball soup was only like S$2.20 (very small bowl), and tasted pretty good! 74 yuan for 10 buns & 3 small bowls of soup. 吃包很饱～Location is a bit out of the way though! 😋 8/10
3) 蟹小友 – I really like the 蟹黄拌饭！And the XLB was better than i thought! Pretty good n affordable! 8/10
4) RooDooDoo – Casual dining by Michelin-starred chef. Unfortunately the price is not that “casual”! It’s over $120 for the 3 of us. Some dishes such as the specialty salad n grilled salmon were tasty though. 7/10
Other than that, I ordered breakfast every day from美团Meituan app! Love the food choices!
5) 老上海软蛋饼 – the family said the food fragrance reminded them of McDonald’s 😛 Anyway, this is my fav breakfast! 蛋饼 双蛋 里脊肉 脆饼10/10
6) 炒方便面是招牌！邻上丰味 – it’s just fried instant mee but they loved it 🍜
7) 九索肠粉皇.港式粥粉饭 – oooh the porridge was smooth n homely!
8 佳家汤包 – I ate 6 招牌纯蟹粉 by myself; 好腻. The serving was huge 🦀 🐖 一份招牌纯蟹粉 is 6大粒, 一份鲜肉汤包 is 12粒. Pls don’t over-order!
