Joy Sunday Instagram – I had the opportunity to enjoy some cha siu bao on my first day in Shanghai, at my hotel. However, I wasn’t feeling so hot, so I opted for lighter fare, believing i would encounter the bao again. Little did I know this ill-fated, might I say hubristic assumption would set me on a soul-searching quest to find the Bao for the entire rest of my time in China. In Beijing I went door to door, i asked everyone I met, I woke up early after long and weary nights to be the first at the dim sum, and still I only tasted Defeat. But now I know for next time: I must Bao Now, or Cry Trying.
