Juliana Canfield Instagram – The @stereophonicplay cast went into Sunday’s Tony Awards already riding a high with 13 nominations — the most any play has ever received. The night would prove to be quite successful for the show, as it would take home the Tony for Best Play. The show also won Best Direction of a Play, Best Featured Actor in a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Play.
It was the first Tony for star @julianakdc, who previously was best known for playing Kendall Roy’s assistant Jess in “Succession.” For the night, Canfield worked with stylist @bailey.moon, makeup artist @samanthalmua and hairstylist @yamaguchi.akihisa, and wore a custom black @thombrowne gown.
“I love the exaggerated hips and that sumptuous silk faille,” Canfield shared of her look. The dress featured peonies and vines that were “hand-made, placed and applied,” she added.
