I realized I never posted this one! Last December, I was featured on another episode of the NHK World show “Trails to Oishii Tokyo,” this time featuring the Japanese bread crumbs called panko! I got to try so many delicious fried food, and I even visited the factory where panko was made! This painting is of the specialty Tonkatsu pork cutlet from the famous restaurant Narikura ( @narikura_minamiasagaya ) – the chef uses a slow frying technique that crisps up the breading while keeping the meat tender and rare. The rice is also topped with panko, and the dessert was a French toast made from panko too! You can watch the episode streaming online for free.
