Kailene Falls Instagram – Beef Bowl
牛飯
Beef bowls (gyuudon) are perhaps Japan’s most famous fast food item, so for this month’s food art challenge themed “Fast Food/Takeout Original to Your Country,” I knew exactly what I had to paint. I have painted gyuudon before in the past, but this time I painted one from a different fast food chain called “Matsuya.” Like many of the locations now, the Shimokitazawa location is entirely self-service… and it’s so cheap! I ordered the beef bowl topped with grated daikon and ponzu sauce, and for ¥550 yen ($3.50 USD), I got the bowl and a side of miso soup! It’s the perfect meal when you want something hearty in a rush, and of course, takeout options are also available!
今月のアートチャレンジテーマが「ファストフード」なので、日本で最も有名なファストフードのメニュー、牛丼を描くことにしました。以前はすきやの牛丼を描いたことがあるけど、今回は松屋の鬼おろしポン酢牛めしを！下北沢店に行って、全部セルフサービスになっていて、味噌汁付きで¥550、安くて美味しかったです！
