MC Sha-Rock Instagram – I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in Hanover Hospital, but raised in New York City. Every year up until 18 years old, I’d spent the summers at wrightsville beach, fort fisher, green-field lake, while looking forward to eating @krispykreme, when they were 6 cents apiece. I remember waiting for April to come to attend the North Carolina Azalea Festival in Wilmington. I’d attended Peabody Elementary School and was a Mayflower Queen. I also had to be bused out to a elementary school near wrightsville, before moving to NYC. I lived on n every project/public housing to include Hilcrest, taylor homes and Jervey. I’d attended and served as a debutante to my aunt Barbara’s ball. I’d look forward to fishing with my grandparents Joe & Naomi Pryor for Sunday dinner. I remember picking cherries and fruit off of someone else’s tree, amongst other things. I’m just finding out that I have so many family members and cousins 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th generation and through marriage that are related to me and are still active in Wilmington. I’m the 2nd grandchild of Joseph & Naomi Pryor & the 2nd child of Douglass Green. I’m coming back in 2025 to celebrate with all of you.
