I knew this goodbye would be one of the hardest😭, and I anticipated it once I knew I was moving in with Ray.
One of the most important relationships I have, which I don’t always share, is the one I have with my roommate of 8 years, Dar. It’s really hard to put into words how special this relationship is. We both started out in LA together, first as strangers. I watched her pursue dance while working full-time. She saw me build ABG from the ground up. She heard about every date I went on when I was single and was the one who picked me up when I went through heartbreak 💔 . There are countless meals made for each other & evenings spent on our couch watching some reality show. We bought furniture together and moved in and out of 3 apartments in LA.
There’s so much more, but most importantly, Dar became my home.
Upon moving to NYC, I was thrilled knowing that she was coming along too (for her own experience with her bf for 2 months). So when the final goodbye came last week, after her time was up, I truly felt like my security blanket had left.
Even though I’m super sad that our move truly marks the end of an era (like Monica and Rachel), it’s incredible how strong of a relationship one can build with a roommate ❤️ | Posted on 07/Jun/2024 08:07:38
