Minami Instagram – 5年前、私は夢の見るアトリエをスケッチし、いつかそれが現実になることを想像していた。
しかし実現するタイミングや費用、良い出会いがなかったりで、何の進展もないまま、夢は夢とて放置していた。
今年ロサンゼルスに戻ったとき、計画を実行する時間があることに気づき、オアハカ出身の友人の大工に相談したら、じゃあ明日から始めようっとなり、さっそく建設に取りかかったのだ。 🔨✨
2ヶ月の作業で、みるみる家が完成していく面白さはなんとも言えない。
そして自由に、好きな空間を作れるって、本当に楽しい。
元々は紙切れのスケッチから始まった、まるで計画されたものではなかったけれど、私たちの理想が具現化されたことはとても誇り高く嬉しい。
幼い頃、私は木が生えている家に住むことを夢見ていた。
その願望が、思いもよらない時に人生にポンッと花咲くのって、面白い。
次のプロジェクトは…庭にサウナを作りたい♨️ 夢はいつまでも見続けたいよね🌳
Five years ago, I sketched out the workshop space of my dream, imagining that it would one day become reality.
But we never moved forward due to time, cost and lack of good meetings, so I left it as a dream.
When I moved back to Los Angeles this year, I realized we had all the time in the world to launch a project, so we talked to a carpenter friend from Oaxaca and started building the next day. 🏡💫
I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the house completed in just two months’ work.
And it feels so good to be free and to be able to create the space I want.
I’m very happy and proud that it’s so close to our ideal, even if it wasn’t really planned.
As a child, I dreamed of living in a house where a tree grew.
Funny how some childhood wishes insert themselves into your life when you least expect it. 🌳💭
Next project? A sauna in the garden. Because why not keep dreaming ?
