Nina Williams Instagram – A bit quiet on the climbing front; taking time to heal my injury and focus on other parts of life. Some of that healing took place last week for @americanalpine’s annual United In Yosemite event 😌
UiY is pretty special; a limited number of spots are given out via lottery. Participants receive free camping, food, clinics, climbing, and extracurricular activities. @americanalpine, in partnership with @yosemiteconservancy and the @nationalparkservice, offer these resources to folks who might otherwise not get the chance to stay in Yosemite. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the Park without logistical barriers. A time to be fully present with your surroundings and the people you’re with, allowing yourself to get lost in the vortex and only have to think about what you’re going to climb that day.
This year I hosted a Fireside Chat inviting folks to talk about a variety of topics; the direction of the Club, climbing partner dynamics, and conflict management among them. I romped up some fun classics with @alldayeddie @sharazaia @fosterdoodle_ @quinault. I happily got lost in the time/space Valley Vortex.
