Ok, you wanted to know about how I started in the showbiz industry, and even though I’m 7 years into my career, I’m still really new, but here are some of the things that I’ve done along the way. Everyone has their own path, these are some of the markers on my journey.
1 🎈I filmed an episode of Blippi, it was never released, but a great experience!
2 🎈I found my first agent through attending the Industy Network events. I won 8 medals at the showcase, and I received 20 callbacks from agencies! It was a great experience overall, and I would recommend it, there was a ton of useful information.
3 🎈One of my earliest bookings was for a commercial, I think it was for Twisty Petz. I didn’t make it into the final cut, that is something that happens in this business sometimes, and you just have to roll with it 😎
4 🎈 One of the first things I put on my resume was performing The Toe Tag Monologues, a program that goes into jr high and high schools to begin talks about difficult topics. It was great practice for performing in front of large live audiences!
5 🎈 I took a ballet class that had a performance of Cinderella, and I played a mouse. This is something else I put on my first resume.
6 🎈 Here’s another Boot Camp that I attended. And here is one of the amazing coaches, Tim Colceri, he was in Full Metal Jacket, he can shout really loud!
7 🎈The first movie I booked was a short film that has just gone to festivals, And Yet They Speak. It was a really good learning experience. Here I am watching myself on the screen for the first time, something you don’t always get to do! It was a magical moment! They won an award for best cinematography.
8 🎈 This Jennifer Marshall, she was one of the people I worked with in that short movie. Do you recognize her? Jennifer plays Max’s mom in Stranger Things! Do you think I could play Sadie Sink’s sister?
9 🎈Dick’s Sporting Goods commercial, it was one of my first, and even though I didn’t speak, I still put it on my resume.
