Rachel Atherton Instagram – Dyfi. ❤️😍 i decided to move to dyfi in winter 2014, I moved in with @dan_atherton for the winter & then met @ollydavey ❤️ The next 2 years I had nearly TWO perfect seasons, getting 2nd at World Cup 1 in 2015 and then winning everything for the next 2 years… injured in 2017… 2018 then gave me another world champs win & World Cup title… I never imagined what the next 10 years would hold 🥰🌈✊. The Dyfi valley set me free. The locals embraced us. The terrain gave me the ability to train hard & win 3 world championship titles, 3 World Cup overalls. In 2019 we launched @athertonbikes & I won 2 world cups on our own bikes before I snapped my Achilles’ tendon 🥺 We then opened @dyfibikepark in 2019 I had our baby girl Arna in 2021… It’s been a WHIRLDWIND since I moved to dyfi… and only now am I slowing down enough appreciate it all…. I’m at another huge crossroads in my life & I’m trying to find that same instinct to trust in…. But it feels harder this time! To imagine a life without racing is so scary, so so scary. I can’t race forever & ever 😂 But having dyfi bike park to ride , hang out & see friends & just see you all having such a good time, it’s so so rad ❤️ Just wanted to shout out the Dyfi Valley & machynlleth town & all then people in it… & surrounding areas for giving me this life ❤️ @moonhead_media #machynlleth #dyfi #dyfivalley
