Inspired by the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests that took place over several days beginning on June 28, 1969. The riots began after a police raid happened at a gay bar located within Lower Manhattan in New York City.
1969! Sometimes I feel humanity has come a long way on this subject, sometimes not. It’s been a long time… and, again and again, I remember that change must come from the inside.
If you don’t accept me, maybe there is a part of me that doesn’t accept myself yet.
Again and again, I decide for EVOLUTION instead of REVOLUTION.
I’m committed, more and more, to expand the acceptation of all the parts of me and all the roles I assume in this society. I believe it’s the best I can do to contribute. To march, to dance and to accept myself more and more…!
To all the brothers and sisters and others out there, I wish one day I’m able to celebrate myself as I celebrate all of us. If only we could do that, we would finally realise we need no labels. We are all just human beings made of love.
