The officers involved have never said why they made a highly unusual decision to appeal and press for prosecution…why does it matter? It matters because a Coroner ruled that Caroline took her own life as a direct result of that decision.
I speak to Caroline’s mum Christine tonight – she is clear that she believes the officers were influenced by hearsay, public opinion and the press. And it’s hard to question her version of events because the police have so far provided no evidence to explain it otherwise….
Well now they have the chance – a new investigation has been launched today and Christine is hopeful finally her family will get some answers.
We talk about what happened in the three months leading up to caroline’s death, the questions that are unanswered, but we also talk about what has kept her going @flackstock a festival in Caroline’s memory that is entering its third year with her good friend @ollymurs headlining this year’s event to raise money for mental health charities.
