so 6 months ago i started brazilian jiu jitsu. i’ve never played a sport. i was so bad. which was kind of freeing, to be able to just be awful & a beginner & get good with that. . which means i’m kinda stupid proud of my first stripe. and seconds after i got it last night, my coach’s 4 year old marched up to me, gave me a high five, and reminded me that she has THREE stripes. 😂 . so here’s to humility, doing things that scare you, and just being okay with being bad at stuff. until you’re a tiny bit less bad. . ❤️ & 🙏 to @sibjj @henrypanekbjj & @jordand_green #carlsongracie #graciejiujitsu

Want to explore New Zealand’s underwater world with SeaLegacy’s storytellers? In the country’s few marine protected areas, stunning aquatic species flourish among a bustling kelp ecosystem. But the vibrancy and abundance is disappearing fast. Overfishing disrupts the delicate balance of ecosystems, undermining the intricate interactions and dependencies that allow species to coexist and thrive. In our latest episode of “A Sea of Hope,” we and our local partners showcase the stark difference in ocean health between the regulated regions and their barren counterparts. By amplifying our ocean’s voice and raising powerful marine protection awareness, we can revitalize ocean life for generations to come. so this was cool – had my first shadow on The Irrational. @molly.kunz plays phoebe on the show, & wanted to learn about directing so she asked if she could shadow my episode. . gotta say, the idea that i know enough to be useful to someone coming up kind of took me by surprise. but i was mentored by so many people coming up…. and it was a joy to have a chance to pay some of that back. . we had a ball. she’s gonna be great when she gets in that director’s chair some day. . also thanks to @jessewarn for taking this photo. the selfie i took was a disaster. this is me still with lots to learn 😂 . #womeninfilm #theirrational
that’s me and @macbrandt at i think his wedding? we never take good pix together because when we are together we are being friends and forgetting about social media. but mac’s the best. he started acting on camera during #prisonbreak and we have been friends ever since. we share this medieval sense of loyalty and an inability to stop speaking our minds. he’s on the @prisonbreakpodcast this week if you wanna listen. 😘
