Shannon O’Connell Instagram – When I first started coaching again I was adamant I didn’t want to train fighters.
Then this bloke comes along… I decided to do a bit with him and just take it as it comes. His dedication and work ethic made it impossible to turn away.
He was 150kg which was 40kg up from where he wanted to be. I had him doing running programs and he pushed through bruising and pain in his feet from trying to run with all the extra weight but he never stopped, not once unless I made him. Not once did he ever shy away from hard sparring no matter the experience level they had over him. He did the rounds and grew from every session.
Tonight he climbed back in the ring 30kg down (see the difference in his photos) and after 6 years out of the game and won with a first round TKO.
