Sharon Van Etten Instagram – I took this photo of our host, Hakan, in Istanbul, Turkey when he brought the band and I over in 2012. I’ve taken some time to process and research the situation left from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Before I just started reposting things, I wanted to make sure that I found trustworthy organizations that are working to aid the region. That took some time.

Through recommendations and my own research, I have found the following organizations to be credible where you can know that your support is doing the good you intend it to do. I hope you find this list helpful (I did) and by doing what you can, I hope it will help instill some hope for you and any loved ones and those directly affected during an immense feeling of despair.

Sharon Van Etten Instagram – So much has been happening lately… and there’s still more to come ! I will be a judge for @npr’s #TinyDeskContest this year! I am lucky to have had the opportunity to play the #TinyDesk twice and am so excited to be able to help bring that experience to a new up-and-coming artist . To enter, you must submit a Tiny Desk Contest entry video by March 13. The winner will get to play their very own Tiny Desk concert and go on tour with @nprmusic. I can’t wait to listen and get to know all of your music .
