Siena Agudong Instagram – It would be crazy to use a butt pic to post an inspiring caption, right? right. so…

growing up, the idea of a therapist or anything of the sorts wasn’t something I thought was ‘for me.’ I believed I was ‘too stubborn’ or ‘far gone in my ways’ and meeting with one would only waste their time.

CUT TO…Today, I regularly meet with a solid team who calls me out, holds me accountable, and inspires new perspectives. And still, every week I am hit with a wave of gratitude for the changes that came about after making space for a new priority in life—healing. (Though I’m not ready to share anything publicly, I did step away for some time to take care of myself: took some old advice and found support.)

And now? LIFE. I had no idea there was more to feeling ‘alive.’ And while I mourn the days spent not ‘living’ this way, I am grateful for how sensitive it’s made me to the little joys today—flowers, car rides, sunshine, convos w/ strangers, music, love, babies, family, friends, fish: all of it. It’s as if life is moving (because it is & I can see that now experiencing the world outside a stagnant cycle of repetitive thoughts).

What a rant! Get to it. Okay but really, I do hope you take away these two things:

1) I urge you to refuse settling for a life that doesn’t constantly remind you that you are alive. You do not need to earn help (struggle looks different on everyone). Fight for yourself, you deserve to be fought for.

2) It exists. That world full of freedom, forgiveness, and presence. I promise it gets better.

With all this said, I understand there’s a lot that goes into getting professional help (ie: financial restraints) so please seek help in researching the many other accessible programs/organizations that can offer their support for free.

Healing is not linear & I am still learning how to give myself grace (forever student). But having now experienced this kind of peace, most days in battle feel different: I am no longer in a fight against myself.

Be gentle, be kind, do things you’re terrible at just because you’re human (& it’s fun), and dance every chance you get…we are all just trying our best to make this life thing make sense. It’s pretty cute. | Posted on 16/Jun/2024 20:52:19
