Siobhan Williams Instagram – I am so absolutely floored that someone liked my lyrics enough to tattoo them on their body. Music is so important to me, and so extremely personal. My songs for the most part tend to be pretty literal and taken directly from my experiences, and are an expression of my deepest thoughts and feelings. Hearing when my lyrics resonate with someone is the most meaningful thing imaginable. I never ever grow tired of hearing if a certain line holds meaning for someone, or makes a person feel understood or like they’re not alone with how they feel.
I’ve always felt that the beautiful thing about art is that language alone can’t convey a feeling. But art, whether it’s a song or a painting, takes the direct experience and feeling of an artist and projects it onto another person’s soul, transcending any sort of conventional or surface level explanation. It’s just a direct translation of experience in such a profound way. I really do think music is the ultimate expression of that.
