I can remember a time when I dreamed of this moment but didn’t believe I was worthy. (I say that in hindsight) I would always second guess myself and be like, would they cast me for this type of role or that type of role. Would they cast a person who looked like me? Would they really cast a dark skinned female lead?
I didn’t see a lot of me back in the day and it always gave me insecurities. Representation matters, ya know?
Since, I’ve worked on myself and that self talk and now I no longer self sabotage. Instead, I manifest and lift myself up. I pour into me with my words instead of tear down. Words have power and I now choose to use them in a smarter way.
Moral of the story, be intentional with your words. Be Kind To Yourself.
