Sitting at the tip of Australia is Cape York. It’s home to eucalyptus forests, savannahs, tropical rainforests, meandering rivers and vast floodplains.
It’s also home to one of the most remarkable collections of cultural heritage on earth. The sandstone escarpments here are covered with paintings thought to date back more than 25,000 years. But Cape York doesn’t just mark a time in history – it is a place of living heritage, where First Nations people continue to manage and care for Country.
We’re doing more than ever to protect Australia’s cultural and natural treasures by working to World Heritage-list Cape York, but also the Flinders Ranges, Victorian & Broken Hill Trades Hall and the Parramatta Female Factory.
