This special line up had everyone on the edge of their seats, as you can imagine, with the most anticipation for the Grands Echézeaux 1966 Domaine Henry Lamarche. Turns out, this wine has seen better days but her presence alone elevated the evening.
It was in fact, the 1990 Paul Jaboulet Aine, La Chapelle Hermitage that ended up shining the brightest. She sauntered in like a weathered stage veteran, dripping in tobacco and herbs while simultaneously revealing a deep well of dark, nuanced fruit.
