Ways you can support black people today:
Learn why today is important. Educate yourself on black history.
Teach your children.
Educate your family and friends.
Be anti-racist.
Support black businesses.
Support black musicians by buying their music instead of streaming it for free.
Support black content creators by subscribing to their Patrion accounts and buying merchandise.
Buy art by black artists or go to exhibits showcasing black artists.
Do not buy makeup, nail polish, bandaids, stockings etc from brands that do not carry a line that caters to all skin shades.
Consider how many black people you socialize with. If there aren’t any or many, ask yourself why and change that.
Educate yourself on all candidates during all political elections and vote for the people who serve the interest of minority communities.
Make a list of books to read by black authors; buy AND READ said books.
Support and subscribe to podcast with black hosts.
Support programs and organizations that create opportunities for black people.
Stop buying into and giving life to tropes.
Do not give your money to racist companies and organizations.
Spend today finding some new social media accounts to follow run by black people.
Spend today finding tv shows and movies by black people. Make a list. Spend the next year watching them.
Do not EVER use the N word. Ever.
Understand the work you have to do will not be finished in your lifetime.
Bear witness.
Stand up.
Walk the walk.
Listen. Support. Elevate. Acknowledge.
And then do your best to live this way every day ♥️✌🏽
