There’s a mutual love-in going on, and Amy guested with the band at last year’s Louder Than Life festival in Kentucky. “Tenacious D are one of my favourite bands,” says Amy. “Their cable show [Tenacious D, which aired from 1997 – 2000 on HBO] was this awesome subculture underground thing that only a few of my friends knew about. Somebody had a piece of gear where they could record just the audio onto a cassette, and we’d listen to it in our cars. It’s been so cool to watch them not only survive, but thrive and be hilarious.”

Caption : Opening the curtains to find myself on this balcony overlooking a busy square in Bucharest, I can’t help but be transported to 2002, when I got my passport for the first time, to come here and film Bring Me To Life at 21 years old. Caption : My long time collaborator and friend @masaaki_sato_ made this kimono for me out of about 5 different vintage kimonos for my performance with @wagakkiband. He called his dad Hiromasa, who lives in Matsumoto City, Japan, to source the materials for the project by going to vintage shops, sending photos of kimonos and then mailing the ones we chose to Masa in NY. Masa took them apart and sewed them back together into one awesome “Frankenmono!” Thank you Masaaki and Hiromasa for this unique and beautiful work of art ❤️Likes : 110580

Eager to share their culture with us, giving me a crown of flowers to put on on my head. Beth and I wandered off and got lost on a day off there once and followed the sound of music till we ended up in a square with kids playing, people dancing and handmade things for sale. We celebrated Tim’s 33rd birthday there over an amazing traditional Ukrainian meal. We made beautiful memories with lovely fans every time we went. Full of emotion.
