Aid groups worldwide are warning that nearly a million people in Gaza lack adequate shelter to survive the winter, with temperatures dropping as low as 6°C (42°F). Israel’s relentless bombardment has left fewer buildings standing in Gaza this winter, forcing Palestinians, who have repeatedly fled Israeli attacks, to seek refuge in makeshift tents constructed from tarpaulin, blankets, cardboard, and old rice sacks.
