These young men and women are on the front lines of their campuses, bravely leading the way for their community, standing strong in their right to have freedom of movement and access to their classes in the face of bigoted threats and mob intimidation. They wanted to know about what I witnessed and experienced in Israel. I was able to share the stories of the many survivors, and families of hostages I had the privilege of meeting. These students just want to learn. They just want a normal college experience where intellectual curiosity and meeting people from all over the world and recognizing what is shared, and learning from one another, is all they need to worry about. Debra Messing Instagram - I keep thinking about the 199 hostages. My friend @noatishby organized for a group of us to tape posters of all the hostages in Times Square. Looking at their faces, 6 year old, 83 year old it became so real. People walking by would stop and spend some time with them. My heart hurts for the families of these innocents- Muslim, Christian, Jewish -all. The most important thing is the rescue of these hostages. I am grateful that @POTUS’s trip has ensured that humanitarian aid will get to every person living Gaza by negotiating free passage from Egypt. It’s hard to process that Hamas refused to take care of the Palestinians. Blocking aid from getting to them, blocking them from leaving. They could have opened passage into Gaza immediately. They chose not too. It illustrates the lack of humanity within Hamas’ cell. Of course, the Oct 7th terror attack was the most barbaric, blood thirsty massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. I pray that they are defeated. The entire globe will be safer. Please pray for the hostages safe return and the defeat of Hamas. Pray for the physical safety of all the innocent Palestinians and Israelis who are suffering. Pray for peace everywhere. And a personal request that young, passionate, far left students leave the posters up. There are videos of these posters being ripped down. To the kids who were bullied, harassed, assaulted, spat on, thrown down, blocked from entering the library or a class, for the kids who stood singing Hatikva -“The Hope”- with an Israeli flag and an American flag and were told Death to Zionists, Death to America, followed by both flags being stolen and set on fire. To the kids who had to endure jihadi screams of “There is only one solution, Intifada Revolution,” which refers to terrorists wearing suicide vests in cafes, buses, schools, anywhere large crowds of Israeli citizens could be, and were, murdered. Calls for that to be globalized. To the kids who were told they didn’t deserve to live, that their ancestral homeland was stolen land, that the beautiful democracy in the Middle East that has 2 million Arabs living free, with equal rights, serving on the Supreme Court and in the government, was an apartheid state. To the kids whose college administrations failed them. Who allowed Jews to be surrounded by masked “protestors” and pushed out of their campus, who prioritized placating students who were proudly breaking university rules, using hate speech that incited violence, breaking windows with hammers, vandalizing buildings that the took over, yelling “We love Hamas, we are Hamas,”defied orders to disband, cancelled classes, and graduations, instead of doing their job and making the students adhere to the rules and expelling them if they didn’t. They did nothing to ensure that campus and classes were available to all paying students without threats or harassment. To all the students who were excluded from taking classes, going to religious services, listening to guest speakers and forced to experience college virtually “for their own safety.” I see you. Rounded up, taken hostage, turned to ash. We, the generation whose grandparents survived the Holocaust, were reminded continually growing up, that 1/3 of all the Jews on the globe were exterminated, while good people stayed silent. We were told “Never again.” And we believed it. Oct 7 woke us all up to the reality that the ancient hatred of Jews is still alive with us. People deny this genocide happened. Which is a massacre of the soul. The last remaining Holocaust survivors, one of whom is in the terror tunnels in Gaza, wear their numbers on their arms, tell vivid stories of Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, Buchenwald and all the other death camps. They are living proof. They are walking miracles. They carry the memories and stories of all their (our) family members who were murdered because they were Jews. We must never stop sharing their stories. We must never erase, ignore, or diminish the worst atrocity in the history of the world. We must teach children the lived history. Bring them to a Holocaust Memorial Museum. There are 16 in the United States, and in 47 countries worldwide. Teach your children well. I have the honor of wearing a replica of the Star of David that Jackie Cohen’s grandmother Julia wore as she escaped the Nazis. I saw her wearing it and encouraged her to replicate this heirloom as a way for all of us to be able to carry the history with us. Thank you Jackie. And thank you for giving a donation from the proceeds of every sale to support the troops in Israel as they complete their mission of saving both Israelis and Palestinians from the terror of Hamas. Debra Messing Instagram - Tuesday was historic. 350,000 Jews showed up in Washington DC to show support for Israel in their devastating war against the terrorist organization, Hamas; and to condemn the explosion of anti-Jew violence, rhetoric , and graffiti since the largest mass slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. It was healing and empowering to be in community with my Jewish brothers and sisters, and to be a part of a peaceful rally. No signs or screaming words of hate against the Palestinian people. We, instead, recognized the terrible suffering of the innocent Palestinians. Members of Congress expressed their complete support of Israel’s right and duty to dismantle Hamas, which would make a long wished for peace, possible. We prayed for Hamas to release the hostages, which would result in an immediate cease fire. We sang the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah, which means Hope. Debra Messing Instagram - There’s a narrative circulating that Israel dragged the United States into war with Iran, that this is Israel’s war. That claim is not just wrong, it completely misunderands what the entire conflict is all about. Let me explain. For decades, every American president, Republican and Democrat, has said the exact same thing, The Islamic regime in Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon. And yet Iran continued enriching uranium while simultaneously building one of the largest ballistic missile arsenals in the region. So you have to ask a simple question, Why would an oil-rich country need both highly enriched uranium and long-range ballistic missile systems capable of delivering warheads across continents? Those two programs together tell you exactly what the regime has been preparing for. During recent negotiations, Iran acknowledged that it had enough enriched uranium for eleven nuclear bombs. At the same time, it refused to dismantle its enrichment program and continued expanding its missile and drone capabilities. In other words, Iran was not backing down. Over the past few years, Iran has embedded itself deeply into China’s strategic architecture. Iran became China’s backdoor to the Middle East. China now buys the vast majority of Iran’s oil exports, effectively keeping the regime alive. In return, Iran has become a strategic foothold for Chinese power projection, positioned at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important energy checkpoints in the world. What we’re witnessing here is something much larger, an emerging alliance between authoritarian powers and Islamist regimes that share a common goal of weakening the Western world order. Some people call it the Red Green alliance. This is about the West. This is about the United States, Europe, Israel, places that are not perfect but are built on democratic values and basic human rights versus regimes that openly reject those principles. This conflict did not start because of Israel. It started because the Islamic Republic of Iran decided to threaten the US, the Gulf States, Israel, the entire Middle East, and the rest of the free world.

Debra Messing Instagram - OOPS - now the video will work! I had the opportunity to embed with journalists and cross into Gaza to enter the enormous Hamas tunnel that was recently discovered. We entered at the border crossing used for Humanitarian assistance and for the 20,000 Palestinian people that enter Israel daily to go to work or for humanitarian support. We saw the hole in the gate through which the Hamas terrorists entered Israel 10/7. We walked down the crossing (where the hostages were released) and after about 20 minutes we came over a hill and there was this huge tunnel entrance. It was awe inspiring . I’ll do a post about the tunnel, soon. After we came out, we walked back to the border. We saw a fleet of tanks drive in a line toward us. @leekern13 had found beautiful yellow flowers and suggested we bring them to the soldiers. We did, and it was a wonderful interaction. What startled me, however, was how young the soldiers were. Babies. 18,19, 20 years old. Sweet young men. I thought “What are they doing here? Driving a huge metal whale? They should be home thinking about what they want to do with lives. Not here.” So many IDF soldiers have needlessly lost their lives defending their country from jihadists committed to driving all Jews into the Sea. But for 10/7, they would be alive. So many Palestinian civilians have needlessly lost their lives. But for 10/7 they would all still be alive. I am grateful to every IDF soldier who is committed to wiping out Hamas. Looking at their faces, 6 year old, 83 year old it became so real. People walking by would stop and spend some time with them. My heart hurts for the families of these innocents- Muslim, Christian, Jewish -all. The most important thing is the rescue of these hostages. I am grateful that @POTUS’s trip has ensured that humanitarian aid will get to every person living Gaza by negotiating free passage from Egypt. It’s hard to process that Hamas refused to take care of the Palestinians. Blocking aid from getting to them, blocking them from leaving. They could have opened passage into Gaza immediately. They chose not too. It illustrates the lack of humanity within Hamas’ cell. Of course, the Oct 7th terror attack was the most barbaric, blood thirsty massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. I pray that they are defeated. The entire globe will be safer. Please pray for the hostages safe return and the defeat of Hamas. I had the opportunity to embed with journalists and cross into Gaza to enter the enormous Hamas tunnel that was recently discovered. We entered at the border crossing used for Humanitarian assistance and for the 20,000 Palestinian people that enter Israel daily to go to work or for humanitarian support. We saw the hole in the gate through which the Hamas terrorists entered Israel 10/7. We walked down the crossing (where the hostages were released) and after about 20 minutes we came over a hill and there was this huge tunnel entrance. It was awe inspiring . I’ll do a post about the tunnel, soon. After we came out, we walked back to the border. We saw a fleet of tanks drive in a line toward us. @leekern13 had found beautiful yellow flowers and suggested we bring them to the soldiers. We did, and it was a wonderful interaction. What startled me, however, was how young the soldiers were. Babies. 18,19, 20 years old. Sweet young men. I thought “What are they doing here? Driving a huge metal whale? They should be home thinking about what they want to do with lives. Not here.” So many IDF soldiers have needlessly lost their lives defending their country from jihadists committed to driving all Jews into the Sea. But for 10/7, they would be alive. So many Palestinian civilians have needlessly lost their lives. But for 10/7 they would all still be alive. I am grateful to every IDF soldier who is committed to wiping out Hamas.
