Discussing what to wear for the @goldenglobes I told Domenico Dolce “ think of dressing your grandmother” because D&G often have super sexy clothes that I would be embarrassed to wear at my age. He sent me first the drawing of the dress but in black lace . Later we decided to go red . Black is always safe but doesn’t photograph well with paparazzi photos taken in a hurry under whatever light in red carpets . We selected red to celebrate the color woren by the cardinals in film Conclave @focusfeatures .I always love D&G elegance mixed with sense of humor and that is what made select thier chandelier earring . There is also a photo myself 28 years ago when I was first nominated for a golden globe wearing D G with a lovely cherries print ( again humor and elegance )

Isabella Rossellini Instagram - Today there is an article on me in the NEW YORK TIMES. (Photo @paolakudacki ). I feel happy and flattered but also a bit shy about all this attention. The pretext was to talk to journalist Lulu Garcia-Navarro about the film LA CHIMERA by #alicerohrwacher that is about to come out. I play a very old lady and in real life I am one so we ended up talking about aging. I don’t have any deep answers. I always joke with LANCOME saying that I am age I am not a spoke person anymore , but I am expected to be an oracle. But I have to admit that from where we were many years ago with the tradition of “ be beautiful and shut up” we women came a long way. Nowadays Lancome’s slogan is “ La Vie est belle” emphasizing the playfulness , the fun and creativity . I am so glad to have lived this long to have witnessed this change.. Maybe my next short films as an ethologies like my GREEN PORNO ( about sex)SEDUCE ME ( different animal strategy of seduction) and MAMMAS ( about maternal instinct) that can be seen in the CRITERION CHANNEL should be about aging.

I totally agree and my other dogs Pinocchio and Darcy are rescues ( see photos #2 and # 3 ) but for guide dogs is different . They have been selected generation after generation to have particular temperament. Nowadays dog breeds are just created for looks but historically they were selected for talents. We have created hunting dogs, guard dogs , herding dogs.There is very little chance that a dachshund can herd sheep but border collie or an Australian Shepard dogs do it easily . Guide dogs have been selected to be particularly calm, friendly and unafraid. Rosie never chased my chickens like other dogs do. Rosie never barks and is super friendly, she would not make a good guard dog. Rosie can learn many commands and very easily .Pinocchio just knows “ sit “ and “ stay” . A guide dog can learn more than 100 different words. . Darcy is extremely energetic, barks all the time and has learned many tricks because she would do anything for a treat. Guide dogs seek more approval and caresses than treats . They are extremely human oriented. Clients are provided service dogs for free . @guidedogfoundation @mamafarm

I raised several of them with my children and I am waiting for my grandchildren to be a bit older to do the same. It is always a bit sad to separate from the dogs once they graduate but you’ll become part of a community and the separation is not as drastic as you might imagined. I volunteered for this foundation for over 20 years and it has been a joyful and touching experience @mamafarm
